Etiquette for Children’s Piercings | Ages 6-11

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY

Getting a new piercing can be scary for anyone. The following etiquette document outlines rules and expectations that benefit our piercer and our young clients.

What to expect:

Earlobe piercings for minors ages 6-11 are a longer time slot than the standard appointment. This is to accommodate a more thorough talk-through, “practice,” and nerves. Aziza tries her best to make it a fun, seamless experience to calm anxiety (let us know their favorite song)!

We ask for your patience as she walks your child through the steps and does a bit of “practice,” so your child knows what to expect.

Not ready yet:

Not every appointment is successful. Sometimes your child is simply not ready. And that is okay! However, the appointment slot was taken up, and supplies were opened and prepared. Thus, we require a higher deposit than usual in case the service cannot be performed (the overall price is the same for other ages).

The deposit cannot be used by someone else. We want to ensure our artists’ time is respected, so the shop and Aziza will keep the deposit.

Consent:

Consent and safety are of the utmost importance to us. We will do our absolute best to accommodate, but if your child is not ready, we will not perform the piercing.

What is acceptable:

Screaming and crying
Holding your child’s hand
Your child sitting on your lap
Bribery (ice cream has always been a popular choice afterwards)

What is not acceptable:

Grabbing or hitting
Holding your child down
Aggressive language
Exceeding the time slot

Here at Figure 8 Ink, we strive for comfort, safety, professionalism, and great art. We hope to always give our clients the very best experience, big or small. You will be asked to check off a box certifying you have read, understand, and consent to the rules and guidelines in this etiquette document. Thank you for trusting us!
